Your journey kicks off in the heart of Florence, where you’ll meet your guide and depart from the city by air-conditioned minivan. Head west to the Tuscan medieval village of San Miniato, famed for its white truffle abundant in the neighboring forests.
This notable village not only boasts some of the most aromatic truffles, but it’s also believed to provide nearly 80 percent of the globe’s most sought-after gourmet items. As you step into the woods, you’ll be greeted by a truffle expert and his trusty dog, trained specifically to detect these hidden gems. Traverse the forest at a comfortable pace, observing the dog as it sniffs out the buried treasures.
The moment of discovery is unmistakable: the dog starts digging until the truffle is revealed. Once this adventure concludes, regroup with your driver and indulge in a 2-course meal at a nearby truffle store. Delight in a truffle-infused starter, followed by a hearty truffle pasta dish, paired with regional wine.
Satisfied, the journey continues to a vineyard in the renowned Chianti area. Engage with the resident winemaker and get insights into the creation of the exquisite wines you’ll taste, including the Super Tuscan and the vineyard’s signature Chianti DOCG. Your excursion wraps up with a serene return trip to Florence.

Shout out to our tour hostess, Hillary, who was not only informative, but such fun to be around. Loved Francesca’s hospitality and her adorable truffle sniffer extraordinaire, Choco. Delicious lunch followed by wine tasting and more yummy nibbles. Take advantage of Hillary being a sommelier because she will impart some great wine wisdom! This was the highlight of our trip so far.

One of the most incredible and memorable days ever. The small group environment gave us a personal taste of Italy from a native’s perspective and the charm of Florence came alive for us even more. To watch a purebred dog do his job successfully to find truffles made our day even more amazing. The food, wine, history, and Italian hospitality had us smiling and saying, “This has been one of our most favorite days EVER!” Hillary our guide is an amazing person and we feel blessed to have spent a day with her!!! What a special person that made the day exceptional!!!!

What a spectacular tour! A full day of history telling and driving through breathtaking windy roads that gave one views that were incredible. Hilary was a force. Intelligent, full of knowledge and a sommelier. Truffle hunting is surely quite luxury. Roaming over 300 acres of grounds, that have been in this family for over 6 centuries, contain truffles, how bougie. We loved every moment of this day. The experience, the dogs, the ambiance, the food, the wines and our host, Hilary.

Our guide Hilary was exactly what our family needed. We experienced a rare unsatisfactory tour in Venice and needed this one to be up to Viator standards. Hilary far and away exceeded our expectations. She was informative, friendly, genuine and well connected into the truffles hunt experience, wine and Florence culture.
